Services

Range of services

VAT plus GmbH offers legal consulting in specific areas. Depending the demands of clients, the professional services can range from general information, for example as a first orientation, to tailor-made solutions. Where appropriate, we co-operate with other specialists, either law firms or consultants. For related services that fall out of the scope of our core businesses, like for example labour law (e.g. working permits in the scope of so-called installation supplies), company law or direct taxation, we can refer clients to our preferred co-operation partners.

VAT compliance: VAT registration / VAT refund

VAT plus offers consulting and compliance services to foreign companies that need to register for purposes of Swiss VAT or other VAT systems.

Additionally, VAT plus  offers services in the field of VAT refund and other compliance areas. For a continuously growing number of companies as well as other suppliers of refund services we offer legal support, including fiscal representation for purposes of refund. These services are offered periodically, i.e. typically on an annual basis.
In case of a rejection of a refund application we review the decision and challenge that decision where appropriate.

Customs law

VAT plus assists foreign companies to identify and implement their border compliance obligations at import or export. This legal support can be offered ocassionally, or in individual situations that ask for trouble shooting, or more fundamentally when design of a compliance model is needed.

International Trade Law

Swiss VAT, customs law, or indirect taxes in general are not confined to national law. Instead, these legal areas are or can be subject to boundaries of international law. For example, legal implications can rise from provisions of bilateral trade agreements or multilateral agreements.
When reviewing a legal situation under Swiss or European law, VAT plus also includes applicable international law. Where suited the appropriate measures are taken, like for example reporting a trade barrier to the competent foreign authorities.
